Do you think people ever stop to actually think why films about war struggles are such big hits? I know I did at one point in my life. I always found myself asking why the ending box office numbers were so large, especially over the film the whole family could go and enjoy.
Now that I’ve had a few years with critically watching and enjoying films and watching some of the struggles, even my family has been through, I understand. It’s the feats. The obstacles that the men on the screen are portraying. It’s more than just a work of art that shows sweaty, dirty men pointing and shooting guns at one another only to take their lives. It’s about being surrounded in what they are feeling and the effort it takes for them to execute the troubling tasks they must, or enduing the ultimate battle to struggle against a fight that’s happening within themselves- whether it be in battle or at home with their families. They are stories that public is able to connect with on a more in depth level, as opposed to the animated Bear preaching about equality to the Crows.
I believe these films are such big hits, even around the world, because it is relatively important- in all cultures- to maybe understand the bravery, courage, battles, heroism, selflessness, loyalty, and honor these men and women have to carry within themselves to be so devout to help their county and even allying countries to ensure that people do not have to live in fear. Whether the stories that are told are fictional or not- they still hold valuable lessons. I am excited to see what this story tells when the film has it’s release.
